Programming and activities board

The Programming and Activities Board (PAB) is the largest student-run club at Arizona State University. Contrary to popular belief, our club actually has nothing to do with computers, but has everything to do with event planning! We host anything from small movie night events to football tailgates, and university-wide events like music festivals. Through PAB, I gained experience in various aspects of events, including budgeting, customer service, event conceptualization, marketing, and leadership.

Check out my PAB journey below!

Director

The most rewarding part of being a director was definitely mentoring interns and seeing their growth. Being in this role made me realize the importance of creating a culture with the team I work with. For this reason, I made it a goal to help my team discover their passion and their “why” for being in the club. At the end of the school year, I helped many of my interns transition into new positions in PAB which was incredibly fulfilling.

  • Mentored three program directors in leadership, planning, logistics, and execution of 50 campus-wide events.

  • Coordinated vendors and performers for major ASU events: Welcome Week, Homecoming, and tailgates.

  • Served as an event supervisor, ensuring a smooth event execution and exceptional guest experience.

  • Emceed the 2024 Comedy Show featuring Marcello Hernandez, drawing in 1,000+ attendees.

devilpalooza

associate Director

Despite the chaotic energy that comes with hosting music festivals, I truly felt in my element during Devilpalooza! Working behind the scenes in artist hospitality and on-site at the festival has inspired me to continue pursuing opportunities in live events. New bucket list item: work on the Lollapalooza team!

As a Director for PAB, I led and mentored a committee of 15+ interns and executed 18 campus-wide events. Our events ranged from movie nights to large-scale events in which we developed our own unique concepts. In this role, I:

  • Surpassed attendance by 133% through cultural, trendy, and innovative ideas, including: the first-ever Haunted House, Mariachi Music Series, and Neon Nights with DJ Mandy

  • Reduced event expenses by maintaining vendor relations, using cost-saving measures, and negotiating.

  • Developed organizational documents such as task lists and agendas to create clear communication.

  • Coordinated artist performances, including bookings, managing riders, hospitality, and backstage logistics.

  • Improved my leadership and project management skills.

V.p. of programs

As Vice President of Programs, I provided mentorship and guidance to three PAB Directors. This included support with PAB/ASU event planning regulations and ensuring that all responsibilities were met. In PAB, the V.P. of Programs is the only role that works in committees and on the executive team, bridging communication between both parties.

Devilpalooza is ASU’s Spring Music Festival and has featured artists like Steve Aoki, Chase Atlantic, and Kesha. As Associate Director, I served as the right-hand person to our Director. For this year’s Devilpalooza, we hosted DJ Diesel, Green Matter, and various student performers. In this role, I:

  • Assisted in executing ASU’s largest concert to date (10,236 students - 256% increase from previous years).

  • Oversaw and mentored our business development, activations, and artist hospitality committees.

  • Coordinated artist tech/hospitality riders, green rooms, run-of-show schedules, and backstage logistics.

  • Oversaw all artist affairs to deliver top-tier experiences for performers.

  • Resolved backstage conflicts by addressing artist concerns, last-minute requests, and maintaining a calm, solutions-focused environment.

  • Managed all record keeping and administrative work, including day of sheets, task lists, and agendas to streamline operations.
